Built in 1881 to honour the marriage of the young Countess Sabini from Altamura and the local nobleman Don Tommaso Schiavoni-Tafuri, most of the palace is nowadays property of Donna Elisabetta Arnò, a host that mixes the Apulian hospitality together with an international mind setting.
Neoclassic frescos and finely decorated rooms, vintage furniture bridging between the old family history and the eastern wisdom of feng shui, elegant terraces and wide romantic English gardens combined with a refreshing oak forest, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a very refined food selection. Palazzo Donna Elisabetta is a luxury staying into the noble and authentic history of Apulia.
Great pride for the palace was the wife’s dowry, Contess Sabini, who brought with her from Murge some stumps of Primitivo. Indeed, it’s in these rooms and to the shadow of the smelling flowers colouring the garden that the first and oldest Primitivo’s label came to life, ready to delight meals and gatherings.
Closed for many years behind the majestic gates ringing the bottom of Via Schiavoni Carissimo, the palace regains life keeping the old charme combined to a new spirit raising from a different but still noble union: the one of Donna Elisabetta with her homeland, where she comes back bringing new vibrations, a International attitude and a new style of hospitality.
